I missed my monthly blog last month. Oopsie. I did get a newsletter out so if you are subscribed, you know I’m working on pre submission edits on For Love of Medusa. Also, included in that update, a wild and fascinating story about where the concept of the Easter Bunny came from.
And hasn’t April been a wild ride weather wise. It’s seriously been like winter in the morning and spring late afternoon only to rinse and repeat. Makes one wonder what sort of shenanigans was going on with Hades and Persephone. Maybe Demeter caught Persephone and Hades in a quickie in her gardens…. Yeah, that’s a short story. Coming soonish.
But right now, I’m focused on For Love of Medusa. These edits are going faster than my deep dive but I’m still questioning things like how does Jason pull off his jeans when he’s still wearing boots??? Medusa is quite amused since in her time, you just whip off a chiton and you are ready for some loving!
Dr. Jason Walker is certainly no hero. At least, not in the traditional sense. He’s a little Indiana Jones mixed with a crazy conspiracy theorist with a dash of rebel who everyone wants to invite out to drink because he’s hot, and funny once you get a few drinks into him.
Add in a little God of Love poking around at our dear Dr. Walker and things get interesting to the point of making one pining gorgon fall in love and grow a little annoyed at those who might be having fun with her adorable professor.
I think one of my favorite character scenes is Jason thinking on his motivations for finding Medusa. He’s got a lot to unpack in that regard. Including a gut wrenching need to protect her, even from his own selfish reasons for being there. But there’s more to it then proving the world wrong and himself right about his theories on the existence of Greek Gods and Olympus. There’s loss and the possibility his life choices were manipulated and spurred on by the whim of the very Greek Gods he sought to prove existed.
I’m so looking forward to sharing this story and hope everyone enjoys the wild ride that is their relationship.
Thanks for stopping by and hope the rest of your April is free from allergies and filled with spring flowers and calmer weather than the previous weeks.
